Vadim has served as President of CCM Puerto Rico since 1994. Vadim’s for-profit activities serve as the financial driver of his work in social change. In 2006, he co-founded the Flamboyan Foundation with his wife, Kristin Ehrgood. Flamboyan envisions a day when children in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico receive a world-class education. In Washington, DC, Flamboyan is accelerating student success by helping teachers engage families in productive ways. Flamboyan’s partnership with 24 public schools has resulted in improved teacher morale, increased student attendance, improved student behavior, increased standardized test scores, and drastic increases in family participation in all facets of their kids’ education. In Puerto Rico, the foundation is building a more engaged and strategic philanthropic sector for education and is leading an effort to identify, replicate, and celebrate Puerto Rico’s most outstanding public school teachers. Vadim and Kristin previously co-founded Sapientis, a not-for-profit organization committed to improving public education in Puerto Rico by mobilizing a diverse and informed network of change agents. Vadim also is an active member, and former Board Chairman, of Rare – an international environmental not-for-profit organization. Vadim and Kristin have a 5-year-old son and a baby girl and live in Washington, DC with their faithful black lab, Zubi.
